£1m Royal Marsden PTS contract
Medical Services recently started a newly awarded patient transport service contract for The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a world-leading cancer centre specialising in diagnosis, treatment, care, education and research.
The £1 million contract, covering the Trust’s 2 London hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton, was won through the competitive LPP tender process.
Kevin Shire, Medical Services’ Director of Business Development said that the new service had been successfully introduced after maximum pre-planning by the company’s specialist implementation team working in close co-ordination with the Royal Marsden’s staff.
In parallel with the start-up of the patient transport service, the Royal Marsden switched from a paper-based journey booking to Medical Services online procedure, designed to be quicker, more reliable, more cost efficient and to help the environment.
