Off road, we maintain our 450 vehicles to the highest standards. We network software applications across all Centre of Excellence sites so mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, deep cleaning, and the stocking of essential supplies are all recorded and auditable; these tasks are completed together to minimise downtime and avoid taking the vehicle off the road more than we have to.
There is more to it than you think... stretchers & wheelchairs have to be certified, defibrilators calibrated, piped oxygen lines cleaned (from the inside), fire extinguishers checked and ramps and winches need servicing. All of these items have to be regulary inspected and records kept.
We lead the way with the latest methods of infection controls. Vehicles are swabbed during the prevention of infection process to be absolutely certain the ambulance is clinically clean. We take part in the World Health Organisation hand hygiene audits.
