Flexibility - Europe's largest independent ambulance fleet
In no part of our business is flexibility more essential than in our vehicle fleet.
Every day patients are told that they have to wait for an ambulance to take them home because theavailable vehicle is the wrong design for them and they need a ‘special’ one.
Traditionally stretcher vehicles were used for accident and emergency work and sitting vehicles were the domain of patient transport services; changing demands have required providers to develop vehicles that are cost effective, meet stringent safety requirements and are environmentally friendly and most importantly are designed to meet patient’s needs.
Medical Services have embraced these demands and have taken a step further, providing vehicles with total flexibility that seek to enhance the patient experience whilst meeting the outcomes expected by the CQC. We have reviewed how we assess and monitor the quality of service provision; we have reviewed and strengthened infection control and cleanliness of our fleet and have ensured that we provide safe and suitable vehicles and equipment.
To achieve our aims we have needed to work with suppliers and vehicle convertors with the end result being innovative, flexibly designed vehicles that ensure the safety and security of both patients and staff.
Above all we have designed our vehicles to ensure patients have their privacy, dignity and independence respected, and have their views and experiences taken into account.
