Emergency Medical Technicians

EMT crews are prepared and trained if a patient’s situation changes rapidly, working with a crew mate on shifts. This well paid role requires full time commitment and professionalism.

  • Using advanced emergency driving skills to respond to medical emergencies.
  • Transporting patients safely between hospitals and clinics for planned appointments and treatment.
  • Safely transferring patients to and from ambulance vehicles, using suitable equipment and manual handling skills.
  • Monitor and care for highly dependent patients en route.
  • Responding to any other situation you are directed to by the control centre.
  • Helping to complete an accurate Patient Report Form, recording all patient information.
  • Making sure your vehicle is roadworthy, properly made ready and cleaned (paying particular attention to infection prevention) after every call.
  • Reporting an untoward incident, however minor in appearance.
