National patient transportation
With 22 locations across England and Wales, Medical Services can carry out national patient transport quickly and safely.
This service is available to NHS and private healthcare providers. Whether you would prefer patient transport to be carried out on a contractual or on-demand basis, our private ambulance service is available 24 hours a day.
Our fleet of 1100 vehicles, ready for national patient transportation, includes:
- Private ambulances.
- 4-door cars.
- 7-door people carriers.
- High Dependency Units.
These can all be used to transport patients to their home, hospital or specialist clinics. Our advanced GPS systems mean we are able to track every Medical Services vehicle, ensuring national patient transportation is fast and safe.
All our vehicles are well equipped. For example, High Dependency Units carry:
- Heart monitors.
- Automated external defibrillators.
- Oxygen supplies.
- Piped Entonox.
- Middlesex carry chairs.
High Dependency Units are manned by qualified EMTs, while all our transport staff are trained in resuscitation techniques. Our staff are also polite and courteous during all local and national patient transportation journeys.
International organ transport
As well as national patient transportation, Medical Services can provide organ transportation on an international basis. This is thanks to our links with all private airlines.
When it comes to transplant surgery, time is one of the most important factors. Many of our drivers are trained to advanced IHCD standards. They are authorised to drive under blue light conditions, to ensure organs get where they are needed on time.
Organ transport is only available to NHS trusts, as it operates under NHS guidelines and authority. As with national patient transportation, organ delivery is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
